Final score
It was an exciting second half and a close one, but Calhoun fell to Plugerville-Hendrickson 31-30 in the regional play-off game.
Fourth quarter
The gap narrowed in the fourth with a score by Calhoun. The extra point was missed bringing the score to Hendrickson 31, Calhoun 30.
Nothing resulted from a pass interception by Calhoun’s Joey Calzada. The score with 2:27 remaining in the fourth Hawks 31, Calhoun 30.
Third quarter
This game is not over yet. The third quarter started a bit rough for the ’Crabs with a Hawks touchdown. Xaviar Archangel answered with a 90-yard kick-off return paving the way for Calhoun’s first touchdown.
The Hawks then fumbled in the end zone, fell on the ball and scored.
Archangel once again revved up Calhoun fans with a 51-yard run. Sterling Jones scored bringing the board to Hawks 31, Sandcrabs 17.
A 69-yard run by Archangel resulted in a touchdown ending the third with the Alamodome live with excitement and a score of Hawks 31, Sandcrabs 24.
Half-time
If fan support could win a football game, Calhoun would have this one in the bag. Calhoun fans fill the home side of the Alamodome, while Hendrickson fans more sparsely populate the visitor’s side during the regional playoff game
Unfortunately for Sandcrab fans, fan support has not helped the turnovers that have dominated the first half of this ball game. At half time the Sandcrabs have only put three points on the scoreboard, compared to the Hawks’ 17.

Seniors...thank you for the past 3 years of football excitement...it has given our community it's pride back and you have represented us well. So good luck to each of you in your individual futures.
Underclassmen....we look forward to next season...and know that there is a lot of talent to be found in your ranks...and we will anxiously look forward to next year.
Hold your heads up boys....you be proud of who you are, how you have played, and what you have accomplished...because we couldn't be any prouder if you had won the State Title.
