Judge sentences eleven offenders

Calhoun County Court-at-Law Judge Alex R. Hernandez was in session on Friday, Dec. 19.

Court action was as follows;

•Thomas Eugene Carlton of Victoria plead true to driving while intoxicated and was sentenced to 30 days jail time with credit for time already served.

•Jessica Bernal of Port Lavaca plead true to resisting search or transportation and was sentenced to seven days in jail with credit for time already served.


•Jose Benjamin Gonzalez Jr. of Port Lavaca plead true to driving while intoxicated and was sentenced to 10 days in jail with credit for time already served. He was also sentenced to 30 days in jail with credit for time served for a second driving while intoxicated charge.

•Joanna Ochoa Vasquez of Port Lavaca plead guilty to failing to identify as a fugitive from justice and received 24 months probation. A theft $20-$500 by check charge was taken into consideration with the failure to ID charge.

•Tracy Edward Schneider of Port Lavaca plead true to driving while intoxicated and received 12 months extended probation .He was ordered to do 20 hours of community service.

•Stephen Vallejo-Sanchez Jr. of Port Lavaca plead true to driving while intoxicated and was sentenced to 30 days in jail with credit for time already served.

•The driving while license suspended/invalid-charge against Vickie Teague Canion  was dismissed.

•Alfred Lamar Marshall III  of Port Lavaca plead no contest to criminal mischief $500-$1,500 and was sentenced to six months in jail and was given 25 hours of community service.


•Darek Daniel Smith of Seadrift, charged with theft between $500 and $1,500, failed to appear in court. He forfeited his bond. Judge Hernandez ordered that a capias be issued for Smith’s re-arrest.

•Carachura Maldonado of Port Lavaca plead guilty to a second driving while intoxicated charge and was sentenced o 12 months probation. He was fined $350 and was ordered to get alcohol education.

•Antonio Galicia Resendiz of Port O’Connor plead guilty to driving while intoxicated and received 12 months probation. He was fined $350, was given 25 hours of community service and was ordered to get alcohol education.

•The illegally carrying a weapon charge against Cory McBride of Port Lavaca was dismissed.

•Cody Wayne Gloor of Port Lavaca, charged with assault causing bodily injury-family violence, failed to appear in court. He forfeited his bond. Judge Hernandez ordered that a capias be issued for Gloor’s re-arrest.

•Joe Manuel Navarro of Port Lavaca plead true to possession of dangerous drugs and was sentenced to 40 days in  jail with credit for time already served.

•Justo Servin Romero of Port Lavaca plead guilty to driving while intoxication and was sentenced to 20 days in jail with credit for time already served.

•Norma Guerrero plead  guilty to driving while intoxicated and was sentenced to 12 months probation. She was fined $350, was given 25 hours of community service and was ordered to get alcohol education.
