HUMAN REMAINS FOUND
Some duck hunters putting out decoys at Schicke Point Tuesday found something they were not expecting, a skull.
Calhoun County Sheriff B.B. Browning and his deputies along with some Matagorda County deputies went to the scene and were able to retrieve most of the skeleton, that was wearing a necklace.
The necklace, plus some teeth that are intact will help to identify the victim, according to the sheriff.
The bones were found out in a marsh area under some weeds, according to Browning.
“It may be a man that fell off a shrimp boat near Tres Palacios,” said the sheriff.
Browning said the bones are being sent to a doctor specializing in DNA to help determine the identity of the bones, which are believed to be those of a man.
