Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church will host its annual fall festival from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15, at the Bauer Community Center. There is no admission fee to enter the festival.
The church is expecting more than 1,000 people to the annual event throughout the day. Raffles will be a highlight with more than $13,000 given away in debit cards. The main meal is fried catfish, fried shrimp and sides for $10 a plate. Other food booths inside the festival will sell tamales, eggrolls and fried rice, baked goods, mangonadas, chili pies, sausage on a stick, pizza an more.
Children will enjoy the kid's corner with face painting, carnival-type games where they can win a selection of little prizes, popcorn, cotton candy and more.
"We are inviting the whole community out to our annual fall festival to enjoy a Sunday after church with their family and friends with good food and good fellowship,” said Fr. Tommy Chen. “Please come out and join us. And thank you for always supporting us every year at the Festival and in other church events."
The funds help to pay the church's annual two largest bills of the Diocesan Service Appeal and Property Insurance.
