The 41st annual Scout Fishoree was held recently in Point Comfort. More than 100 scouts attended this year’s event and 85 major prizes were handed out.
Michael Shilinga caught the biggest fish, which was a red fish weighing 2 pounds and 8 ounces. Dayian Martinez caught the most fish reeling in eight for the day.
Participants enjoyed a hot dog lunch during the awards ceremony. Game Warden David Janesen and his team spoke to the Scouts about boat safety and the importance of wearing a life jacket.
The event was free and open to all Scouts from any county. Prize sponsors were Braskem, Formosa, HEB and Calvin Anderly.
