The Education Foundation of Calhoun County will host a summer kick-off carnival Wednesday, June 12, through Sunday, June 16, at Sandcrab Stadium.
“The kick-off to summer carnival is a great way to raise money for the education foundation and also bring something fun for the youth of Calhoun County. This is the second year the foundation has hosted the carnival,” said EFCC President Dallas Franklin. “It’s a way to bring something for the kids to do in the summer and raise money for a great cause.”
The carnival is open from 6-10 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday evening and armbands are $20 each night. Friday fun begins at 6 p.m. and runs until 11 p.m. with armbands at $25. The carnival is open from 3-11 p.m. Saturday and armbands are $25. The final night to take advantage of the event is from 3-10 p.m. Sunday and armbands are $20. Individual ride tickets are $1 each. There is no fee to enter the carnival.
Funds raised through the event will help benefit teacher grants, scholarships and duel credit scholarships for high school students, special education grants, fall festival donations and more.
“The education foundation of Calhoun County supports student post-secondary scholarships and innovative teaching practices with the goal of increasing academic achievement and career readiness,” Franklin said.
Sandcrab Stadium will be off limits to public use during the carnival. For more information, call Franklin at 361-230-2267.
