Jaine Waghorne and Steve Marwitz recently receive their certificates of Associate Membership of the Texas Mid-Coast Chapter of Texas Master Naturalists (TMN), Inc. from training coordinators Sally Scroggs and Greg Simmons.

The graduation ceremony was held at the beautiful Barnhart Ranch in Goliad County. The Mid-Coast Chapter of TMN covers eight coastal counties. Waghorne and Marwitz completed six months of rigorous training from January-June 2022 that included field surveys that covered 10 venues across the Texas coast.

Both will soon become Certified Texas Master Naturalists under the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and Texas Parks & Wildlife Department. With the certification, Waghorne and Marwitz, along with 12 of their training peers from other chapter counties, will become two of 474 new members in 2021 adding to the ranks of some 15,220 who have been trained as Texas Master Naturalists since the program’s inception.
