The Texas Department of Public Safety initiated a vehicle chase last Thursday evening on Texas Farm Market Road 1090 that ended at the intersection of U.S. Highway 87 North.

DPS Sergeant Ruben San Miguel said the chase was “terminated” after a 2009 Black Chrysler crashed at the intersection of FM 1090 and U.S. 87 North.

The driver and passenger each had warrant issues out against them, according to San Miguel.

The driver, Derrek Sean Cardona, 35, of Victoria, was issued a warrant for violation of probation for unauthorized use of a vehicle, and the passenger, Amanda Nicole Vela, 36, of Port Lavaca, had an outstanding warrant for theft of property, according to San Miguel.

Neither Cardona nor Vela was hurt. They were both taken into custody, San Miguel said.
