Port Lavaca Police Department responded to an assault that ended in a stabbing at a local bar in Port Lavaca.
Saturday, January 4, at around 11:30 pm, PLPD responded to LMR Bar & Billiards located on 224 N. Commerce St. after a 23-year-old male was assaulted and stabbed.
PLPD found the victim on the 400 block of Randle Street, and he was coherent, according to Police Chief Colin Rangnow.
Rangnow said the victim suffered a stab wound to the abdomen. He was transported by Calhoun County EMS and later life-flighted by helicopter to a Houston hospital.
Apparently, there was talk on Facebook on whether the stabbing happened inside or outside the bar. Rangnow said, according to the video footage from inside the bar, the assault happened inside but is not 100 percent certain the stabbing happened inside.
PLPD is still investigating and could have two possible arrests coming soon, but an arrest has not yet been made.
