Arthur Gene Parker Jr., 63, lovingly known as “Sarge” and a native of Port Lavaca, went to meet his Lord and Savior, Thursday, June 6, 2019. He was born Sept. 15, 1955 to Arthur Gene Sr. and Beverly Jo Broderick Parker. Graduating from Calhoun High School in 1974, Arthur went on to serve his country honorably in the U. S. Army. He was an avid bowler and belonged to several bowling leagues over the years. He also sang with a Christian singing group in the early 80’s and was a member of Port Lavaca Thespians in the late 80’s.
Arthur is survived by his son, Willet “Beau” Parker and wife, Rosalinda Parker, of Port Lavaca; his parents; brothers, Charles Parker and wife, Becky, of Victoria, and James Parker and wife, Dorothy, of Port Lavaca; six grandchildren: Brittney, Patricia, Adriana, Alexis, Jocelyn and Halley; eight great-grandchildren: Evie, Cameron, Christian, Emma, Caitline, Elaina, Adrain and Malia; along with a host of other loving family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Edith Parker and son, Billy George Parker.
Family and friends will gather for a Celebration of Life Service at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 22, at Grace Funeral Chapel in Port Lavaca.
