Bonny Lofland, 92, passed away Monday, Sept. 30, 2019 in Port Lavaca. She was the fourth of eight children born to Glen and Helen Marcellus of Liberal, Kansas.
Bonny and her family relocated to the Texas panhandle in the mid 1950’s where she raised five children, all of whom graduated from Perryton High School and continued on to some level of higher education. She relocated in 2001 to Port Lavaca with her youngest daughter. She was active in the Catholic churches of Port Lavaca and Perryton, a member of the local garden club, Beta Sigma Phi Chapter of Laureate Theta Epsilon Sorority and an avid card player.
She was preceded in death by her oldest daughter, Sue Lyon; son, Kip Lofland; and two grandsons, Rick Lyon and Bart Scroggs.
Bonny was a wonderful mother and granny and is survived by sons Lloyd (Jim) Lofland, of Port Lavaca, and Tom Lofland, of Spearfish, South Dakota; daughter, Chris Scroggs, of Port Lavaca; 10 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
A Rosary was held at 1 p.m. followed by a funeral Mass at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church. A memorial and internment was held at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 7, in Ochiltree County.
