Christopher Hodges, 38, of Port Lavaca, passed away Sept. 4, 2018. He was born May 27, 1980, in Port Lavaca to Harvey Jean and Kathy Kabela Hodges. He loved carpentry and was a talented builder. Growing up, he enjoyed spending time on the farm with his grandparents and cousins. He loved animals, nature and being outdoors.
He is survived by his daughter, Madison Dakota Hodges, of Port Lavaca; parents, Harvey and Kathy Hodges; sisters, Brandi Henke (Kevin), of Port Lavaca, Brianna Hodges (Zan Wade), of Port Lavaca; niece, Makenna Henke; and nephews, Mason Henke and Derek Wade.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Earnest and Bertha Kabela, and Leonard and Eleanor Hodges.
Visitation was from noon to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, followed by a Rosary at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church. A funeral Mass followed the Rosary at 1 p.m. at the church with Fr. Tommy Chen officiating. Burial followed in Six Mile Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Michael Balajka, John Culpepper, Kevin Henke, Lucas Kabela, Rodney Korczynski, Steve Korczynski, Jim Rudellat, and Zan Wade. Honorary pallbearers were Darryl Culpepper, Carson Kabela, Daniel Perez and Gregg Alexander.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to help defray medical and funeral expenses.
