“Joe” Angel Portilla, 86, passed away Friday, Feb. 10, 2023 at his residence in Kenedy. He was born in Nixon to the late Guadalupe and Encarnacion Portilla.
Joe was a Godly man who enjoyed a life long career as a carpenter. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, exploring nature and being involved in archeology. As a member of the Menard Business Men’s Group, he was very active in the community. He will be greatly missed by family and many friends he made over the years.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Lena Portilla; three siblings; six children; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Johnny Portilla; his son, David Portilla; his grandson, Jeremy Brown.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, March 3, at Kenedy City Hall Auditorium.
In lieu of flowers they may be sent to the Kenedy City Hall Auditorium 303 W Main St, Kenedy, TX 78119.
