Juanita Villanueva

Juanita Villanueva, age 78, of Port Lavaca, passed away Sunday, Nov. 6, 2022. She was born March 30, 1944, in Mathis to the late Eduardo Jimenez and Antonia Selveda.

She is survived by her daughters, Mary Linda Saenz, of Victoria, Jo Ann Reyna (Jesse), of Bishop, Brenda Saenz, of Victoria, Elena Saenz, of Port Lavaca, and Sandra Pena (Sergio), of Port Lavaca; sisters, Ines Morales, of Victoria, and Ernestina Silvas, of Port Lavaca; brother, Edward Jimenez Jr. (Odelia), of Seadrift. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren, and numerous great and great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfonso Villanueva; sons, Ovidio Saenz Jr, and Fortino Saenz; sisters, Ramona Jimenez Villarreal and Josie Morales; brothers, Rogelio “Chilino” Jimenez, Manuel Jimenez and Jose Angel Jimenez; grandchildren: Antonia Maria Maseda, Ashley Nicole Maseda, Xadrian Jose Martinez, Angel Zae Ybarra and Julianna Morales.

Visitation began from 5-8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14, 2022, with a Rosary recited at 6 p.m. at Angel Lucy’s Funeral Home. Visitation continued at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church.

Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial followed at Port Lavaca Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Eric Miranda, Mark Lee Medina, Ruben Saenz, Johnny Aguilar, Jaime Olivarez II, and Jeremy Gonzalez. Honorary Pallbearers will be David Joe Maseda Jr, Kevin Stringo Jr., Jo Louis Aguilar Jr., Christopher Saenz, and Rusty Morales.
