Michelle Lynn Velasquez, 54, passed away Friday, Jan. 27, 2023. She was born Feb. 15, 1968, in Port Lavaca to the late Trinidad Jr. and Guadalupe Rocha.
Michelle loved to dance to country music, shop, go on girls’ trips, and attend concerts, but most of all she loved being with her family.
Michelle leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Ruben Velasquez; children: Ezekiel Velasquez (Laryssa), Victoria Velasquez (Jerrin), Elijah Velasquez (Madison); grandchildren: Rowan Velasquez, Evie Velasquez and Rylan Casillas; sister, Melissa Loyd (Jason); nieces, Keeley Loyd and Arabella Loyd; special friends serving as pallbearers are: Erin Weaver, Denise Carter, Sandra Thomas, Norma Robinson, Susan Foester, Patty Sundin and Teresa Becerra; fur baby, Lucy Velasquez; along with numerous other loving family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Family and friends will gather for visitation from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, at Grace Funeral Chapel, 1604 West Austin St. in Port Lavaca. The Holy Rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, at Our Lady of The Gulf Catholic Church in Port Lavaca. Interment will immediately follow at Olivia Community Cemetery.
