--Vs. East--

The Sandies swept the Titans, 3-0, last Tuesday at home, which gave Calhoun the season sweep against Victoria East

--Vs. Carroll--

The Sandies took a tough, 3-0, loss against Carroll at home, and missed opportunities to get wins on sets one and three.

The Sandies Volleyball Head Coach Jenna Buzek said she saw the best moments from her team, but she added that it wasn’t consistent enough to get the win.

Calhoun struggled to extend the lead against Carroll and dealt with a back and forth moments in sets one and three.

Buzek said teams like Carroll are not going to make mistakes or errors, and she added that’s why the game went back and forth. “

“Either good or bad things” happen,” she said.

“You are not going to get five hitting errors in a row from them, you are not going to get serving errors in a row, that is why it was back and forth,” Buzek said.

Buzek added her team didn’t commit a lot errors or mistakes, but the match worked in Carroll’s favor.

The Sandies took a 24-20 lead in the third set with a chance to win, but errors cost them the set.

“We got to figure out how to finish…we have many opportunities, you don’t get many more opportunities than that, we just have to figure out how to win.” Buzek said.

The Sandies faced Corpus Christi King Tuesday, October 8, and will travel to Victoria to take on Victoria West this Friday.
