Mitigation project enters monitoring stage

Contributed photo The Bean Tract was selected as the mitigation site for expansion of Port of Port Lavaca-Point Comfort. Since its completion in early 2024, the site has shown strong signs of success. Travis Middle School and Seadrift School students planted seagrasses in the wetlands as part of the Careers Along the Coast: Roots to Routes event hosted by the Calhoun Port Authority.
