Archie David Dworaczyk, 85, of Rocksprings and Port Lavaca, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, in Kerrville, Texas. He was married to Patricia Barr Dworaczyk on September 2, 1961, in Sinton, Texas at the Catholic Church. They spent 63 years together attached at the hip.
Archie was born near Seadrift, Texas and was one of 10 children born to Bernard and Veronica Dworaczyk. He attended primary school at a 2 room schoolhouse in Long Mott, Texas and later attended and graduated from Calhoun High School in 1957. He started college at Texas A&I in Kingsville where he met and later married Patricia Lois Barr. He earned his “smarts” ring from the University of Houston in Victoria in 1994 when Patricia and his family encouraged him to return to college. He worked at Union Carbide Seadrift Plant for 37 years in many jobs but notably as a chemical lab manager and industrial hygiene specialist.
Archie was preceded in death by parents Bernard and Veronica Dworaczyk and siblings: Bernadine Alexander, James Dworaczyk, Bernard Dworaczyk, and Charlotte Sartor.
Survivors include his wife Patricia and children Dee Anne Dworaczyk, Dana Dworaczyk, and David Dworaczyk as well as his foster daughter Shelly Crow. Surviving siblings include Helen Thomas, Veronica Henderson, Frankie Dworaczyk, Martin Dworaczyk, and Barbara Vivion.
Funeral mass will be held at 2 pm Friday, October 4, 2024, at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church in Port Lavaca, Texas with Father Tommy Chen officiating. Burial will be held at a later date by the family.
