Earl Dwain Nunley

Earl Dwain Nunley passed away on June 21, 2025 after a short illness. He was born on July 27, 1943 to James Ernest and Reba Rose (Meadors) Nunley.

Dwain was a lifetime resident of Port Lavaca where he started his family with Sherra Lee Sanders having sons Samuel, Jeffry, and daughter Carrah. Later, he married Patricia Diane (Duncan) Nunley, his wife of 45 years.

Together, Dwain and Diane farmed alongside his older brother John until their retirement following the 2019 crop. Dwain served on numerous boards and organizations including Calhoun County Farm Bureau, Farmers Gin of Port Lavaca, Farmers Co–op of El Campo, and South Texas Cotton & Grain Association. He was also a Master Mason in the Port Lavaca Masonic Lodge.

Dwain is survived by his wife Diane, brothers John

and Dan (Nancy), children Sam (Diana), Jeff (April), Carrah, six grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild.

A celebration of life will be held at White's BBQ in Port Lavaca on Saturday, July 5th from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
