Abel Aguilar Sr. Abel Aguilar Sr.

Abel Aguilar Sr., 77, went to be with the Lord on June 7, 2024. He was born on January 11, 1947 in Mathis, Texas, to the late Pedro and Dora Aguilar.

Abel met Linda at the movies who then became his wife on November 6th of 1963. The two had two beautiful children, Cindy and Abel, whom he loved and adored.

Abel was a self taught welder who later became self employed and accomplished many things with his self taught trade. In the early 80’s he built a welding shop outside of Mathis where he worked until he sold it and moved to Port Lavaca where he built he and his wife Linda’s home. On his spare time, Abel took pride in tending to his yard, making sure it was pristine in appearance.

Throughout his life he worked for numerous companies and accomplished many things, but his pride and passion was being self-employed. Abel’s hand at welding had him create/erect numerous steel metal buildings, homes, roofs and invested into Tri Steel Homes.

Abel was a loving father to his children whom he is survived by: Cindy Hernandez (Eloy) and Abel Aguilar; his siblings: Mary Garza (Homer Sr.) of Mathis, Emma Aguilar, Paul Aguilar (Trisha); his grandchildren: Michael Hernandez and Ashley Hernandez (Jason); along with his great-grandchildren: Isabell River, Sophia Hernandez, Estella Hernandez, Amelia Hernandez, Travis Seals, Trevor Seals, and TJ Seals.

A memorial visitation will be held on Monday, June 17, 2024 from 1-2 p.m. at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home followed by a celebration of Abel’s life at 2 p.m. with Pastor Jesse Alderete officiating.
