Minor Reese III - Wilson

It is with great sorrow that the Reese family announces the passing of Minor Reese III - Wilson, a loving husband, devoted father, cherished son, and respected member of thePort Lavaca community. He passed away on August 29, 2025, at the age of 55.Minor, affectionately known as Captain, was born to Willie Mae Stevenson and deceased father Minor Reese II on November 27, 1969, in Beaumont Texas. He was a pillar of society, building a life and raising his family in Port Lavaca, Texas. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 33 years, Vergie Shafaye Reese, and his four sons, Rodreck Lawrence, Minor Reese IV, Major Reese, Mason Reese and beloved granddaughter Acadia Lee Reese.

For 20 years, Minor was a dedicated employee at Alcoa Aluminum Operations, where he was known for his strong work ethic and commitment. Beyond his career, Minor was also a successful businessman and a generous philanthropist, giving back to his community whenever he saw a need.

He was the steadfast rock for his entire family, a man who extended his fatherly love and patience to more than just his own children. He is also survived by his loving mother, Willie Mae Stevenson, and four siblings. He is preceded in death with two siblings.

Minor's warmth, wisdom, and unwavering support touched countless lives. Our family has not only lost a member but a vital piece of its foundation. Though he has begun his next chapter with God, his legacy ofstrength, love, and patience will continue to carry and inspire his entire family. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 13,2025, at 12:30 p.m. at AgapeFamily Outreach Church.Interment will follow at Palacios Cemetery. Celebration of Life dinner will be at Palacios Pavillion located at 693 South BayBoulevard Palacios, Texas77465. For those who wish to send flowers, please have them delivered to the Agape Family Outreach Church 1811 Newsome Boulevard, Palacios, Texas 77465 on the day of the services.
