Amelia “Amy” Stanton
Amelia “Amy” Pena Stanton, 80, of Victoria, formerly of Port Lavaca, passed away on Friday, September 6, 2024 in Victoria. She was born in Bishop, Texas on September 28, 1943 to Tomas and Inez Sainz Pena. Amy worked various positions for over twenty years with the Calhoun County Independent School District.
In addition to her parents, Tomas and Inez Sainz Pena, Amy is preceded in death by her husband; Blaine Van Stanton, and daughter; Tammy Mickle,
Amy is survived by her daughters; Stephanie Gilmore, and Leticia Drinkard and her husband Gregory, son; Jason Stanton and his wife Sheila, sister; Tomasita “Tommie” Perez, and brothers; Henry Pena and David Pena, fifteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, with another on the way, and numerous extended family, all of whom will cherish her memory.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 12, 2024 from 5-8 pm at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral Service was held on Friday, September 13, 2024 at 10 am at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home, with burial immediately following at Port Lavaca Cemetery. Pastor Max Garza officiated.
